A: Though courts will often time push to get cases concluded, court will also allow parties to a divorce case to put the case on hold for a reasonable amount of time, such as 60 to 90 days, if the parties are attempting to reconcile. To get the case put on hold for a while, a joint motion setting forth the reasons for the request will need to be filed with the court.
