Q: Reviving an over-stayer's status
Hello.
I overstayed as a F1 Visa student (it's been 3 years), and I made my life here. I barely make $600 a month, which mostly goes to my rent, but it's better than nothing.
If I were to go back, I would have harder time adjusting it as I never finished my degree due to poor financial strength.
I have a passport (expired 2 years ago), I-20 form (obviously no longer valid), and proof of entry stamp on my expired F1-Visa.
My friend talked about a possibility of hiring me as an engineer and a translator (I have some possible designs that his company can definitely use), but since he's not a lawyer, he isn't sure if the company is able to sponsor me any type of Visa for me, let alone the fact that I have no valid status.
Would a company be able to, to my knowledge by proving that I'm a key asset, sponsor me a Visa and/or revive my status?
Regardless, what are some possibilities, other than marrying a citizen, that could possibly revive my status?
A: Seek for opinions from an experienced immigration attorney. Good luck. www.aba-us.com
