Naples, FL asked in Personal Injury for Florida

Q: Do we have to pay?

My friend and i were riding on the golf cart and the brakes stopped working but we were slowing down. We came to a stop and just barely hit a mailbox and knocked it out of the ground and off the stand. No one was home and we didn't have paper to give our names but we knew the owners. The owners son contacted us saying his parents will be coming to our houses to talk to our parents, we are all 17 or younger. I asked him how much he needed to fix the mail box but he refused to tell me. I told him i would pay as much as he needed at the time and he declined my offer. It has been almost two months now and the owners just came to us asking for 350$ to fix the mailbox that we broke almost two months ago. Do we have to pay even though he declined my offer in the first place and they have waited two months to talk to our parents?

A: Yes! Why would you think you didn't have to pay? Because of a two month delay? About the only thing you can do is question the amount they are asking for.
