Sandpoint, ID asked in Criminal Law for Idaho

Q: Can a CA penal code 12020 from 1980 be expunged from my record?

The item in question was a "dirk" which I purchased from a store I worked at. I didn't know it was illegal to possess because it was offered for sale in my store.

I don't recall ever going to court, but my record shows I was convicted of a felony and sentenced to 90 days probation and a fine. Again, I remember none of this. Every time I purchase a firearm I have to explain to the reason for my arrest and I woud really like to get this cleared up. Also, I am prohibited from entering Canada because of this, and living just 80 miles from the border my wife and i would like to visit Canada sometime.

Can this be expunged from my record?

Thank you!
