Q: Will Illinois take action against my license for out of state tickets I recieved a speeding ticket and DWLS ticket in WI
A:
Hello Asker,
Yes, Illinois will take action. Wisconsin does not have court supervision so these violations would be entered as convictions in Illinois through the secretary of state. It is not entirely clear how they would treat the driving on suspended license because the action they will take depends on the basis of your suspension. Because there are so many reasons a license can be suspended, it is difficult to provide a complete answer here as to the impact of this ticket on your driving privileges. What I can say is that if you were suspended for receiving too many moving violation convictions in a year or two years (depending on your age), the Wisconsin ticket for DWLS is VERY likely to have the result of extending your suspension by the period you were original suspended for.
To provide any more information as to how these tickets will affect your license will require a phone consultation at the bare minimum because there are several follow up questions that must be asked to give an exact answer.
Hope that helps,
