Q: I'm 24, working in the US on STEM-OPT extension. My US citizen dad filed, but has 6-months to live. Can it be expedited?
I'm an international student in the US on F-1 visa. I'm currently working on STEM OPT extension. My dad is a US citizen, he filed for my green card last year (July 25, 2014). We are now waiting for the I-130 form. Since I'm over 21, the process will be long. My dad has termincal prostate cancer and the doctors gave him 6 months to live. I was wondering if this would be an emergency case and if the process could be expedited. If so, what steps should I take?
