Boone, IA asked in Criminal Law for Iowa

Q: Do I need a Lawyer to appeal founded alleged dependent adult abuse ( with no criminal charges ) by DHS?

I have been accused of alleged dependent adult abuse with no criminal charges by DHS. I believe the I was following company procedures and was not informed or trained properly by the company I worked for. They have told me I have been wrongly accused and this should have never happened to me. I am now finding out that they have be changing the way they train people and they have changed their polices and procedures since the investigation started. I am very confused about all of this and can't understand why I have been founded of dependent adult abuse. I have only been working in this field for 3 years and all of the training and education I have has been through the company I work for. I was aggressively accused by the DHS worker when she interviewed me. I am not sure what to do and I am now told I will be on the Adult Abuse Registry for ten years and will no longer be able to work in this field. The company I work or worked for is Genesis Development here in Boone Iowa.

A: You need to hire an attorney if the company you work for will not hire one for you.
