Q: My moms uncle recently passed away and a probate wanted too know when my moms father passed which was many years ago
My mother is 55 years old and her father died when she was 13. She comes from a very wealthy family and her uncle recently passed away a couple days ago. Now a probate wanted to know when my moms father passed. There family is also extremely wealthy and had a very large estate. I would like too know what this means. Thank you
A: Probate is a process by which the court approves descent and distribution to heirs. So I don't know what you mean by "a probate". If you are talking about the probate judge, I expect that he or she is curious as to when your grandfather died. Do you have an attorney?
