Decatur, GA asked in Collections for Georgia

Q: What legal action are they talking about and how much trouble am I in?

I recently lost my job and couldnt pay for my furniture loan. I asked the furniture place repeatedly to come pick up their furniture and they said it was against policy and they dont do repossessions anymore. I asked what is going to happen than since I cant pay for the furniture. They told me after so long it would be sent to collections. I asked many time if they were going to come get the furniture and they said no. I had no choice but to sell it. I Had to move out of my house and in with my boyfriend. Now they keep harrassin me to pay on the account or they are going to take legal action because I sold the furniture that was under lease. I can afford to pay on it and am struggling with my part time job paying my other bills.

A: You owe them and can be sued if you do not pay them. Then, they might get a final judgment against you and then they can try to collect on that final judgment by garnishing your wages or seizing your bank account, most likely.
