Q: Is it illegal to sell your time? If you state you are only there for company, all clothes stay on....
You can't touch me all we do is hang out and I get paid is that legal?
A: There are two levels to this: the theoretical and the reality. Part of this also turns on the nature of prostitution and solicitation. Under CRS 18-7-202 (follow link to CO Statutes: http://www.intotolegal.com/upcoming%20Events/Forms.html). Prostitution is the payment for sex; solicitation is arranging for paid sex. Now the hard part, technically an escort/sugar baby who is paid for their companionship is not prostitution--even if the sex occurs AFTER the completion of the companionship (that is sex wholly free and voluntary). In reality, if sex occurs after spending time with a person it will be assumed that part of the selling of your time includes a charge for sex--this can be rebutted, but you will have to convince a judge/jury that the sex was for free (a rather difficult task). In sum, the safest approach is to never have sex with a client. There are also some tax issues related to this type of work that you may want to check into. Contact an attorney if you want specific advice.
