Newport News, VA asked in Landlord - Tenant for Virginia

Q: What can I do if my landlord makes me lose my job

I work from home due to anxiety issues. My apartment complex is under new management and are doing renovations. These renovations has made me lose time from work and I can't miss anymore. So they could make me lose my job. There are vacant apartments that are done with renovations but they won't allow me to transfer. I don't have any money to break the lease and move elsewhere. This is also greatly affecting my health, my anxiety. I have PTSD due to a rape experience and the people who do the renovating are about 4-5 guys at one time alone with me in my place. No one is listening. What do I do, or can I do anything?

A: That would depend entirely on the terms of your lease. Without reviewing your lease, an attorney cannot answer this question. Seek out a local Landlord/Tenant lawyer.
