Allentown, PA asked in Immigration Law for Pennsylvania

Q: uscis says I used an old form for the medical examination and want me to update it. Will my doctor charge me again? Help

My sister in law was going to be my sponsor last year because my husband (u.s. citizen) didn't meet the poverty guidelines. I had the medical examination (form I-693) done in May of last year and my husband paid a good amount of money for it. We ended up waiting until this year to submit my case since my sister in law said she was not going to be the sponsor after all (she was trying to bring her father here so cannot be a sponsor for 2 cases) and after the tax season, we didn't really need a second sponsor anymore because this time my husband met the pov. guidelines. I submitted the papers and everything was good until yesterday. I got a notification from USCIS stating the following: "The version of form I-693 submitted is no longer in use. (Note: As of July 27, 2015, USCIS will only accept Form I-693 with edition date 3/30/2015. Therefore, an updated Form I-693 with edition date 3/30/15 is required if you submit form I-693 to USCIS on/after July 27, 2015.) Please help

A: Hello, the answer to this totally depends on the doctor. An immigration lawyer can do little to nothing in this situation. Call or go to the doctor's office and find out if they would be willing to refill the details on the new form. Before that call USCIS customer service to find out if refilling the details in the form is enough. I hope the doctor is nice enough to help you in this situation.

All the best.
