Q: Can I release my guard dog after warning a person I will do so if they don't vacate my property?
The person is not law enforcement, but supposedly from my mortgage company but will not verify any information. He will not give me his name, show any ID and takes pics of my home while trespassing in my yard. This has happened on many occasions. I'm a single mom of a 12 year old girl and our safety is my priority. When can I legally release my dog to encourage him to leave?
A: No, because you arent in imminent threat of your life. He is trespassing--call the police.Take photos of him, take photos of his license plate.
