Antioch, TN asked in Car Accidents and Traffic Tickets for Tennessee

Q: I hit a parked vehicle in office premises and reported the incident 25-30 minutes later.

Meanwhile the other party reported incident to police.Office security shared the contact details of me to the other party and later we both met and i exchanged the insurance and license information.I also informed my insurance company meanwhile and reported the incident.Police officer contacted me by phone and i provided all my details to them.Next day i reached out to police to check any formalities to comply with from my side and they informed there is nothing required from my end as insurance details are shared already.

Police report came last week where it mentioned it was hit and run and in narrative they mentioned that i reported the incident to my office and later my office shared the details to police and the hit and run incident was resolved.

Am I still in trouble? Please let me know.

A: No. If anything report documents you then took care of it. If you look at the report it will usually have a box "citation issued y/n" or "citation no. " If there is no citation number entered, or if it's a "violation indicated" and you didn't get a ticket you are fine as far as the police are concerned. Exhale.
