Q: accident happen 6/12 ins co contact 6/12 & told car total loss car appraised 6/16. finally said they will send ck. 7/13
Only contact is me calling claims. Total loss confirm online 6/16. I called rep 6/21 left mess called again 6/22 they sent envelope to sent title back. Title return 6/24 left several mess and sent email for settlement. Finally they said they will sent ck. 7/13 and should rec'd 7/14. We told them car was total loss from 1st report, car hit ditch and flipped over. 2002 Ford Mustang. Claims even towed to there salvage company.
Is this unfair claims practice for delay of handling claim and/or them not attempting to contacting me? What rights do I have?
A: Im assuming this is your company, not the other person.s Generally the insurance company has 30 days to resolve propertty claims.Hopefully by now you have the check. It's tacky but not at this point a violation of statutes. But contact a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Assn to be sure. They give free consults.
