Q: I'm a nurse and I broke my ankle at work in 2014 and I was under workmen comp and I received $20,00.00 in October
I had to have surgery(have a plate and screws in my leg)But I suffered a stroke in 2015 in February and I was dealing with headaches before my stroke(from August of 2014 until I had the stroke in 2016) and I wasn't thinking right when I signed the papers and I am still suffering with my leg, I can barely walk on it and I can't work like I used to on this leg. I'm 43 yrs old. Can I sue because I can't work like I was before I broke my leg even though I sign papers in order
To receive the check?
A: Unlikely--they give you settlements so they won't have to deal with future claims, but you should contact the attorney who represented you. If you had no attorney, that's why you are in this predicament. Contact a member of the Tenn. Trial Lawyers Assn who handles workers compensation--they give free consultations.
