Q: what will happen to my license on a first offense ticket for 107 in a 70
A:
Hello Asker,
Technically, it is impossible for this ticket alone to result in a suspension of your privileges regardless of result SO LONG AS you don't miss court. With that being said, it is still a very serious ticket. It is a class A Misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and/or $2,500 fine. In your case, the fact that you have broke 100 miles per hour may encourage some judges, depending on the county, to impose a jail sentence to make a point. At a bare minimum, I would expect community service to be an expectation.
Even though this is a very serious offenses, there is the opportunity to avoid some of the most damaging consequences. With representation, it may be possible to avoid receiving a criminal record, damage to your insurance records, and/or reduce the impact of this on your record. The degree to which these are possible varies depending on the county but many of these options would be unlikely without representation.
I hope that helps and let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Jason A. Wilkins
