Q: How do I stop this ?
I'm 21 years old, over a year ago I stupidly had gotten married to an immigrant, we no longer talk and he's proceeding to apply for a green card filling out paper work and giving my information all by his self and he won't give me divorce, I'm stuck, no family and no legal understnding of this ,I don't know what to do, but I never wanted to go through with this, I'm not a bad person but I can't be with him, please what should I do ??
A: He can't file paperwork by himself to have you sponsor him. Typically both spouses must appear for the interview with USCIS. If you don't sign anything, he can't file a Petition for an Immigrant visa, as your beneficiary, without you, the Petitioner.
