Q: Can a parent legally make their 18 year old go to military school?

A: Step back and think about your question. You have just answered "why are they doing this?" and "why might society say they can?"

Yes they can. Your option is to totally emancipate yourself, meaning they no longer have to pay for anything--even health insurance will be your obligation.

Or you could work out a contract with them--as you it would appear have not met with their parameters, as to how you would do that if you stayed at home and what sanctions you would get if you broke the agreement. But as they are making a judgment that paying very big money is worth it for you to become a true adult, then you may wish to consider no matter how vehemently you object, what brought things to the point they'd invest whatever it costs per year to try to get you to straighten up and fly right.

Can't just join the services itself as they want HS or GED.
