Q: I'm 16 years old and just found out I'm pregnant. The problem is my mother always told me if she found out if I was
Pregnant, she would either kick me out or force me to have an abortion. After reading up on it legally,I know she cannot force me to have an abortion.I'm in 11th grade and would like to stay at home at least to finish school(either way I wanna finish school but staying home would be easier 100x more).I understand financially she wouldn't be able to help.My grandfather (who is basically my father)is the only one who knows other than my boyfriends side, he said it's my decision but wouldn't be able to help me Financially.Speaking of that my boyfriends family loves me and are excited about having a new grandchild. They treat me like their own daughter, and are willing to help as much as possible. My boyfriend is financially stable with a steady job. They even offered to take me and the baby in if my mother kicks me out,the only problem is they live the total opposite way of my area.Meaning it will be extremely difficult to get to school from here. Will she be able to kick me out, legally?
A:
No but it could get difficult. I suggest that you need a counselor to help you work things out with your mom, and at the same time to make sure you are making the decision you want. Time is running out--she'll know shortly.
Even if you decided to move, you'd want it on as good terms as possible. So get with a counselor.
