A: The CDL will be disqualified for at least a year if he is convicted of OWI. He may be eligible for a regular license or specialized regular driving privileges. He needs a lawyer.

A: Yes it is possible to fight the OWI, however, the outcome will depend on the facts of the case and the law if anything is suppressible. If he is convicted of an OWI it will suspend his CDL so he needs to speak with an attorney to make sure his case is a strong as possible. If an OWI conviction is unavoidable there are things he can do to continue to drive on his personal operators license.
