Q: Can insurance company just drop you and act like you never existed due to daugther not listed

had full coverage on my vehicle for almost a year, daughter drove vehicle, swerved to avoid animal in road tapped vehicle in front of her , driver of that vehicle then collided with vehicle in front of him. my insurance company stated my daughter wasn't covered therefore they are returning my premiums from day one and cancelled me like i never existed. now they are telling the other insurance company that we were not covered at all.

A: Don't cash the check. Big question is did someone tell them she was a regular user. If she was just starting, generally don't have to tell them asap. Get your policy. Look at it.

Contact a member of the Fla.Justice Assn who handles "bad faith" claims. Contact the Insurance Commr office of consumer affairs.

In meantime write them a hard copy letter, fax and send, that you believe she is covered and expect them to cover. You get sued, you file a 3rd party against them.
