Q: just let a guy test drive my car and he broke the clutch, is he liable to pay for it to be replaced?

A: Hard to say. You would have to prove that his actions caused the clutch to break and not that the clutch broke for some other reason, such as wear and tear. If you have full coverage, you might want to just make a claim under your full coverage and let the insurance deal with the guy who was driving your car. I can't tell you if this is the type of claim your full coverage would cover either. It might come under normal maintenance.
