A: Hello Asker,

Typically, notice of the court's order is sent within a day or two. By statute, it must be sent within 5 days of a judgment (625 ILCS 5/6-204). Technically speaking, the important day is the day of sentencing. If you have an order to pay court costs and fees, the judgment and sentence was entered on the day that you were ordered to pay those court costs.

With that said, there may be a delay if you are an out of state driver. I would not however place this delay as being more than 1 business day as the Secretary of State in Illinois does, to the best of my knowledge, have the power to send faxed records to other state licensing agencies.

This is just a guess but the range for how quickly it will appear will be somewhere between 3 business days and 3 weeks (if it is mailed rather than electronically submitted.

Hope that helps and let us know if you have any additional questions!

Sincerely,

Jason A. Wilkins
