Sanford, FL asked in Car Accidents for Florida

Q: If there financial help that I could have recieved when a car accident case is pending.

Some time last year, I was in an accident and I was out of work for about six months with zero income coming in. tThe job I had was only part-time seasonal and I only worked for five months so I couldn't get unemployment and I lost the chance of being a perminate worker. At the time, though the case is now settled, I asked my lawyer if there was any finanical help I could recieved and they said no. Is that true? Was there indeed help I could have got?

A: I believe that your lawyer told you correctly. Auto accidents can be devastating financially as well as physically. It can be very difficult to get through them when you are not able to work. There is not any type of program to assist you during such a difficult time.

A: None other than the usual, except that there are sometimes seasonal options such as low income heating assitance that you may be eligible for but as far as cash money, no.
