A: If your paternity hasn't been established you can contact the district attorney in your area or the department of justice and volunteer to pay child support. As part of the process they will establish your legal paternity. Then you will be on the hook for child support but you will have the right to intervene in any DHS juvenile court case concerning your daughter and you might be entitled to a court appointed attorney if there is still a juvenile court case pending when your paternity is finally established. Be warned however, you could be hit with child support going back to the birth of your daughter.
