A: This depends on the amount, the criminal record of the offender and the county prosecutor.

Obviously, this person needs an excellent criminal defense attorney.

A: A criminal defense lawyer can help with getting a bond posted, and possibly work out the case to a diversion or lesser offense. This is much better than having a person who is merely CHARGED with a crime languish in jail.
