Miami, FL asked in Car Accidents for Florida

Q: I was visiting a friend to see her house construction and one of the sub contractors hit my car.

Does her insurance deal with this, or the contractors?

A: Generally speaking the insurance of the vehicle owner and also the insurance of the vehicle driver are liable. I suggest that you obtain the insurance of both and then contact your insurance to report the incident. Which insurance will ultimately end up paying to fix the damages will depend upon a variety of factors. Depending upon your coverage your insurance may even fix your car and then your insurance will go after the other insurance companies to get reimbursed.

A: I agree with Mr. Williamson. If you have collision you can run it through them and let them figure if it's the Sub's insurance or the workers insurance (betting it's the worker"s insurance).
