Q: My 15 year old daughter is refusing visitation on her mother's weekends is that legal or can I be held in contempt?

My daughter and her mother fight constantly on the phone and then they bring me into the middle of it I want her to have time with her mom but she doesn't want to go I can't force her can I?

A: At that age, the daughter has much more say in what she does and does not want to do. The best you can do is to keep encouraging her to try to keep a good relationship with her mother because even though it may not seem like it now, she may want a relationship with her later. However, if you think there are serious issues with mother having parenting time or contact with the daughter, you may want to speak to an attorney to see if it's worth modifying the judgment to restrict contact until your daughter is 18 and can decide to do what she wants. Until that happens, you are bound to at least attempt to try to follow your current parenting plan.
