A: Strictly speaking support does not end until a judge orders it to end. If you are asking about when support ends based on the age of the children, the answer depends. In Colorado support goes until 19 (unless marriage, emancipation or graduation from high school occurs). It is possible to also have the separation agreement also cover a portion of college, but this must be expressly included in the agreement.

If the award was granted in Florida, the support order should have been transferred to Colorado. As a general rule, the new state (Colorado) does NOT change the maximum age of support of the original order (Florida). There are some exceptions, but these rarely apply.

FL and CO laws are similar, which is support continues until 18; after 18, support can continue if the child(ren) have not graduated from high school (support continues 1 month after graduation) or been emancipated (which is not the same thing as turning 18). Colorado is slightly different in that support can theoretically continue until 21 if the child is still in high school via re-enrollment.
