Fort Lauderdale, FL asked in Business Formation and Business Law for Florida

Q: Can i get sued? if i can what type of insurance should get to protect my assets.

I signed a franchise confidentiality aggrement for a mattress franchise, Before i signed that i already had an idea of the business as far as mark up for prices for products i have 2 friends that works for furnitures stores i learned the ins and outs. i worked in sales for 8 years (not related to furniture) 1) my father use to owned a furniture store 2) he is a carpenter, he makes kitchen cabinets and custom furniture. Before i signed the plans were to open a furniture, mattress & kitchen cabinet store. I knew where to get the furniture not the brand name mattresses. I found this company online i signed their confidentiality agreement, i emailed asking for prices they never Reply, i got a call From them i went to see one of their location, but the franchise could talk about prices, he told me he was never trained. After that i never talked to them again. One month later i Open my furniture & local made mattress store, we also sale kitchen cabinets and custom furniture.

A: It is always possible for you to get sued but there is really no way to tell sis sure. It may just be a wait and see.
