A: May depend on why you were suspended in the first place.

A: Driving on a suspended license is a Class A misdemeanor, with a maximum penalty of 12 months in jail. You can also be sentenced on the violation of your original court supervision based on the new charge. Your actual sentence would depend on a number of factors including the basis for your license suspension (i.e. DUI, traffic tickets, mandatory insurance) and your prior driving record. Jail time may be avoidable but it's impossible to say without more information. Contact an attorney to review your record and discuss your options.
