Northampton, PA asked in Family Law and Child Custody for Pennsylvania

Q: Recent separation from girlfriend. Filled out papers for each of us to sign stating custody and visitation arrangements.

Was very fair when filling it out shared legal custody, gave her physical custody and I would have my daughter two days a week and every other weekend. As we are not currently getting along I had the papers left for her to pick up and told her if she agreed to sign it so I could return it to the courthouse. She said she would but now will not respond to texts or phone calls in 3 days and I have not seen my 2 year old daughter in a week. I have two teenagers from my first marriage that I had joint custody of and have lived with me full time for the past five years. So I consider myself to be a good parent. What can I do?

A: If she won't sign, or negotiate a reasonable schedule, the next step would be to file a custody complaint with the Court. Even after starting the process, you and she can still try to come to an agreement, but I wouldn't want to wait too long before starting the process.
