Memphis, TN asked in Car Accidents for Tennessee

Q: If someone merges into the center lane and hits my car am I at fault?

I had just merged from the opposite side of traffic into the middle lane, the one with yellow lines, when a car hit me trying to merge into the same center lane. Their insurance says that since I kept going in the center lane instead of staying there ones I entered the lane I am at fault, but I only moved forward like a couple of feet at like 5mph which was how traffic was at that moment. The car was right next to me when it just merged to my side.

A: Center lane right of way issues are tough ones and will be heavily fact dependent. If you were fully in the turn lane before the other vehicle enetered the turn lane you may be in the right on this one. I would suggest talk to a lawyer to fully explain the details.
