Q: 2 speeding tickets- can I get at least the 1st ticket off my record since I completed supervision and traffic school?
1st ticket was 1/2/17. I received 6 month court supervision and traffic school to get it off my record. I then got another ticket 6/23/17. These are the only 2 speeding tickets/moving violations I've ever received (I'm 23). Will the 1st ticket still come off my record at the end of the court supervision period (7/18/17)? Or, is this something I can request if I decide to attend the court date (7/26/17) for the 2nd ticket I got? The 2nd ticket only would have had a 4 month supervision period if I was eligible.
And there's probably no way I could get supervision to get the 2nd one off, right? It says on the ticket I am not eligible for traffic school since I've done it in the past 12 months. I'm guessing I'll just have to pay this one and have it on my record.
I really would like to at least get the 1st ticket off my record.
A:
Technically they can violate your first supervision because one of the rules of traffic safety school is that you do not get more tickets in the 6 month period. Assuming they don't do that, supervision would be completed and the case would be dismissed (but it would still show up on your driver's abstract because the secretary of state has to track each time you got supervision so that likely will never go away). The local docket would show that the case is dismissed so no conviction would enter.
As for ticket number 2, it depends on the prosecutor. If TIcket #1 was your only supervision case, then you can get supervision on ticket #2 but that's only if the prosecutor gives you that offer. I would call the local state's attorney's office and see if you can talk to the traffic attorney about working out a supervision deal. If they do not offer supervision, then you can take it to trial, plead open etc., but I would advise you to speak to an attorney before making a decision like that.

A: You are allowed two Court Supervisions every 12 months, so you are eligible for Court Supervision on your second ticket. There is no guarantee that you will get Court Supervision but you should really try. I strongly suggest you go to court on your second ticket and see if you can get a second Court Supervision. I suggest you hire an experienced criminal defense attorney to assist you with this matter because it is more likely that you will get Court Supervision if you go to court with an experienced attorney.
