A: Slip and fall cases AND trip and fall cases are among the more challenging personal injury case out there. A store or business not an absolute insurer of the safety of the guests. The store or business must act in a reasonably prudent manner. It is common and reasonable to have a mat at the entrance of a building. If there something dangerous about the set up of the mat and / or some kind of hidden danger to the mat, there may be a case. However, just because there is a mat and fall on or near the mat, a case does not necessarily automatically present itself. You should consult with an attorney. Hopefully, you took photos of the mat. Be prepared to explain how the mall was at fault for the situation with the potential attorney. Good luck.
