Q: I have a Georgia Serious Commercial disqualification on my driving record and I don't have a commercial license,
the disqualification happened 3 years ago when I lived in Georgia and is stopping me from getting drivers insurance discounts and being a rideshare driver because companies are thinking my regular license was suspended. Is there a way to get it taken off my record?
A:
Use this number to call the Georgia DDS number, and talk to a representative about your record, and ask which of the offenses is causing the issue. 678-413-8400 or 8500.
Explain your obstacle, and see if they can suggest how to clear it up, through seeking a record restriction, with that court system.
Your message confirms what I have been telling people for years: traffic tickets in Georgia are all misdemeanors. Plus, the federal motor carrier law is seemingly illogical and onerous. Paying a traffic ticket lawyer to assist you on the FRONT end can save most, if not all "surprises" like this down the road.
