You should easily qualify for public defender assistance. By no means should you TRY to solve this yourself.
An FTA can be a problem on three fronts. (1) Your driver's license may be suspended. (2) There are fees for reinstatement of license, if #1 applies. (3) The Judge is going to know why and how this court date was missed. Review this with the public defender. A contempt fine could be due here.
That being stated, a cas ethis old MAY not have their witness or witnesses any longer. Discuss that with the PD.
