A: Child support ordinally goes to age 19. However, it may be terminated before then if he is emancipated. Emancipation requires that he live on his own and be self-supporting, without financial help from his parents. It requires an order from the court to terminate the child support.you should retain an attorney to review your situation and advise you how to proceed

A: Child Support generally runs until 19. However, if it can be shown that a child under 19, including an 18 year old, is truly self sufficient and meeting his needs, a court may be willing to declare the child emancipated and either stop or suspend support. Without a lot more information no attorney can tell you what child support should be or what the likely outcome of your situation would be.
