Q: My mom passed recently and left no will. I am the only child. Do i need a probate lawyer?

Im a single mom who left a job out of state to take care of mom. I have no money for a probate lawyer.Is there any help for me?

A: First. I suggest that you consult with a probate attorney in your area to determine what steps should be taken in regards to a probate.

Some assets may not require probate and some might. Once you determine if probate is required then you can gets quotes on what it will cost.

I remind that if you need to probate that you hire a lawyer to do it.

A: Call and speak to a probate lawyer in the county where your mother passed away. If she owned a home or a car or financial accounts solely in her own name, you will need to have a probate administration of some type. Typically a lawyer is paid from the estate proceeds.
