Q: Should I hire an attorney in Louisiana or Michigan?
I live in Louisiana and my childs father lives in Michigan. I filed for child support in LA and over the last 5 months, he has avoided being served the subpoena so the state of Michigan closed the case. Should I hire an attorney in Louisiana or Michigan?
A: I think you should begin with a Louisiana attorney, if the child lives in Louisiana. Once you obtain the Louisiana judgment, then Michigan support enforcement should pick it up and enforce it.
