Q: Has any alcohol retailer sued for wrongful conviction if prosecutors could not find evidence of a 3rd party sale?
Say 2 people walk into a store, one is a minor and the other is of age. The store clerk sells the alcohol to the of age person. The minor is given the alcohol outside of the store and by chance police notice that transaction. The of age consumer is arrested. Then the clerk and store owner are convicted of a 3rd party sale. But there was no evidence of a 3rd party sale.
