Michigan City, IN asked in Foreclosure, Real Estate Law and Landlord - Tenant for Indiana

Q: I'm a tenant in a foreclosed home. There was a sheriff sale but I have not been evicted. What are my rights.

The contractor kicked in my door after deeming my very evident ally lived in home, abandoned. Broke my window AC units and all my stuff is inside. The bank is now threatening me by saying they will illegally throw away all my stuff. They cannot start the eviction process until Dec 18 because of the new bill 1924 passed mandating 90 days Grace period after written notice for tenants in a foreclosed home. The police said they cannot throw my stuff away that it is 100% illegal. But I'm still super worried they do not seem to care about the law at all. What should I do about my broken items? And it looks like from outside the windows my tvs and gaming systems are gone as well. I have 2 witnesses who seen the contractor pull up as soon as I left for work and break into my home. Please any advice?
