Brooklyn, NY asked in Child Custody, Child Support, Divorce and Family Law for New York

Q: what can I do to get full custody of my son,no visits from his father?I don't want him next to me son?He doesn't deserve

I am married but we don't leave together since the day I got pregnant. He didn't take care of me during pregnancy, unlike he didn't want me to be pregnant, so he never went to the doctor with me or something like that. Today my son is 4, he's going for school and I have it with me and my boyfriend. His father looks for him whenever he wants too and have him confused. He calls once in a week and sees him on the weekends. Now I'm asking him to see him only on Sundays and start arguing with me. He had never show up for school, doctors. When his mother is there she is the one who take care of my son, he is a taxi driver and worries more to work than having time with his son. when I told him I was pregnant he didn't want me to have and I decided to keep against his decision. During the 4 years my son was 1 fully year with my mother outside the USA because I was full time worker and have no one to take care of him. Now he wants to be with my son, but when I needed him he decided to ignore me

A: You should consult with an attorney familiar with Family Law and Family Court. The short answer is that you need to file for custody.
