Slatington, PA asked in Domestic Violence for Pennsylvania

Q: Friend planning on leaving spouse, scared commonwth. Will sue/charge her bcuz of 10 plus calls in 8 ,months to LEOS

There have been over a dozen calls made from herself, land lord, mieghbors and husband to police. The most recent he was excessively inebriated, and he called, at which point they took him to hospital over suicidal and drug/alcohol issues for the 72. Officers also insisted he press charges on her. When the arrest occurred, she had already fled the residence due to fear of additional bodily harm, so she wasn't there to give a statement if any kind. So I told her she needs to go to the station essentially make her presence known, determine if there's charges levied by the spouse or state, and ideally apply for emergency PFA. However she's terrified that shell eaither be sued by the county or commonwealth because so many officers have spent so much time thier in the past year and multiple complaints from nieghbors as well. She's also afraid of civil forfeiture (she went through that before), I thought unlikely in this sit. If 4 no other reason she's a HUD rnter w/ no assets

A: I'm sorry but I find your question confusing. For example, if she's the one of the people contacting the police out of fear, why would they then tell him to file charges against her when he was drunk when they responded to her call? Anyway, I think the best thing for your friend to do is to consult in person with an experienced attorney who is preferably familiar with both criminal law and family law to discuss the situation, along with her concerns and fears, in detail. I know you're trying to help your friend but this appears to be a situation where professional advice is warranted.
