Q: I recently moved to TN from AZ with my kids, I never filed to receive child support, how do I go about that now?
The father is living in AZ. We had an agreement in the beginning and he used to pay me bi-weekly, and I signed receipts for him, but I haven’t received anything in 6 years, my son is 7. There is no legal custody agreement or anything, he isn’t even on the birth certificate, not because I didn’t let him but because he never filed the needed paperwork. He isn’t denying paternity or anything, he just doesn’t seem to feel the need to help take care of his son. He also has 5 other children with 3 other women, 4 of which his checks are garnished for those kids child support.
