A: You initially get paperwork that is only proposed child support. You need to request an administrative hearing and at the hearing put on your evidence. Then if things don't go well, you will be given an amount of time by which you can file an appeal. The appeal will move the case into regular court in front of a circuit court judge. At that point you probably want to consult with an attorney to make sure you are putting on your evidence correctly. The trick here is to make sure you file your objections on time and get your hearings. Don't miss any deadlines.
