Q: How do I obtain temporary guardianship for my grandkids if their mom is incarcerated?
They currently reside with me in Tennessee but I only have notarized papers from their mom that she obtained while incarcerated in Georgia but I was told that I still couldn't register them in school with those papers because they are from Georgia. Can anyone help me with this situation?
A: Attorneys are not allow to solicit business on this site. You should search for a child custody lawyer. I do not agree with the school system, but it may be easier to get custody of them in juvenile court than it is to deal with the school system. You don't mention the children's father. He will need to be notified as well. Many attorneys will work with you on a payment plan. Best of luck.
