Q: How to prove Identity? Was raised with Stepdad's last name, but not adopted.
60 yrs old. Mother, Father & Stepfather are all deceased. Mother used Stepfather's last name for all children, (although there was no legal adoption). Kids were enrolled in school & used this name for everything, throughout their lives, until marrying. Divorced, remarried twice. Currently divorced. Have kept ex-husband's last name. It is on CA driver's, SS, Bank acts, etc. Just moved to FL. Cannot get a FL Drivers license, because CA Drivers license is not sufficient ID. Have Birth Cert, but no way of showing a paper trail from birth name, to name used for entire life, up until marriage. (Can show name changes from first marriage, 44 yrs ago, to present). All records, (school, medical, Driver's license, Baptism, etc.), prior to that, (including first marriage licence), listed Stepfather's last name as Maiden name. Never used birth father's name, but it is on Birth Certificate. Please help. Thank you.
A: Why is your California driver's license not sufficient? Do you have a certified copy of your most recent divorce decree?
