Q: My sister has emergency custody for my kids now and father is on child support but got summoned for childsupport. Why?
I lost temp custody of my kids right now but father still on childsupport but my sister has emergency custody of the kids. Father has gotten a summons for childsupport. Why?
A: BOTH parents have a duty to support their child(ren), not just the father. If the children are in the care of a third party, the child support from both parents should go to that third party.
A: With the change in custody, there will be a change in child support. New calculations will need to be completed. My colleague is also right--you will also probably be required to pay child support as well.
